Variety with Jake Chessum shot Kathryn Bigelow in and outside of our photo studio, alongside two stars for her newest film, Detroit.
Though it was a lot more people than we usually accommodate, we got the job done. Ultimately Jake’s team decided to rely on natural light, in and around the photo studio. They used the downtown look of the building and surroundings to mirror the feeling and aesthetic of the film. Wardrobe and styling were also on point, getting a gritty urban feel that matched the raw 1920’s vibe of our building (which is actually a protected National Historic Landmark!).
